Accessibility statement.

New Smiles Dentistry is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

Measures taken

  • Semantic HTML5 landmarks (header, main, section, footer) for assistive technology.
  • Strict heading hierarchy — one <h1> per page, no skipped levels.
  • Color contrast tested at ≥ 7:1 for body text on background (WCAG AAA).
  • Focus states use a 3px visible outline with offset — keyboard users can always see where they are.
  • Every interactive element is at least 44 × 44 px (Success Criterion 2.5.5).
  • Alt text on every meaningful image; decorative images marked alt="".
  • Forms have explicit <label> associations, autocomplete tokens, and inline error messages with role="alert".
  • The hero slideshow respects the user's prefers-reduced-motion setting and includes prev / next / pause controls.
  • Phone numbers are plain text in addition to tel: links.
  • Skip-to-content link appears for keyboard users on the first Tab.
  • Color is never the sole channel for meaning.
  • Language declared on the <html> element.

Known limitations

Third-party tools (such as embedded map or social widgets) may not match our accessibility standards. We choose third-party providers carefully and follow up with vendors when their content fails our checks.

Assessment approach

This site is assessed using a combination of automated testing tools (axe-core, Lighthouse, WAVE) and manual keyboard / screen-reader testing on the latest stable versions of macOS VoiceOver, Windows NVDA, and iOS VoiceOver.
